Magnetic Storm designs lighting for Rent: The Musical

Rent: The Musical is being performed for the first time in Port Elizabeth this month, and Magnetic Storm is delighted to be working with Platform Productions and Pemads again.

Supplying lighting services, including lighting design by Magnetic Storm creative head, David Limbert, the popular technical event supplier is delighted to support the arts within the city.

“The show tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in New York City's East Village in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS,” remarks Limbert. “But it’s also a rock show, with romance and heartbreak, and the lighting has to work with and support a multitude of moods as well as the challenge of creating different settings and tome zones on a stage with a static multi-level set.”

On stage at the Pemads Little Theatre, running from May 16th through to June 2nd, Rent is set to make a great impact, and will showcase some of the great talent that exists in the city.

Tickets available through Computicket, R120 per person.
