The new Nissan Qashqai was launched to the Media in April at an unusual venue considering the product on show. This stunning vehicle was portrayed amidst the old world charm of ox wagons and wool bails in the warehouse of BKB in Nelson Mandela Bay. The event, hosted over two days, was attended by representatives of various vehicle publications from Gauteng & Cape Town. The Urban-Industrial theme was ideal in this location, having placed the original style Voortrekker Ossewaar remnants as the backdrop of the shiny new Nissan Qashqai. The mix of old and new was highlighted in the reflection of the polished duco, while one was forced to remember the past and where it had all started. Wow…. How much things have changed! Magnetic Storm was contracted by the national co-ordinating company to produce this event with an Urban-Industrial feel, placing unique components together that would not only contrast from one another, but also compliment each other.
The brazen use of the industrial stage flats with aluminum legs made up the conference table. The black and silver chunkiness making a bold statement while the cream cushions on silver Tiffany chairs softened the scene. The loosely arranged red roses adorning the tables stood out as vividly as the vehicles themselves. The smell of sheep’s wool intertwined with the aroma of Cappuccino Coffee and the sweet taste of cupcakes along with some savoury treats brought warmth to the vast expanse of the building. With the use of hi-tech equipment, JBL Eon speakers, 4x 42” and 2x 52” LCD screens, the essence of this vehicle was presented from all angles in crisp, clear imagery. Following the presentation, the delegates split up into the 7 vehicles on hand and were whisked away for lunch and an afternoon of adventure and a new driving experience.
