Port Elizabeth Gilbert & Suillivan Society Presents Guys & Dolls
Guys and Dolls, the musical fable of Broadway, came to the Savoy Theatre in May 2008.
The smash hit musical was brought to life by the award-winning theatrical producers, Gilbert and Sullivan G&S). The incredibly talented and creative teams was led by director, Robin Williams; choreographer, Candice Johnstone; and musical director Shawn Lyon.
The show was taken to a global scale when it was turned in to a movie, starring Frank Sinatra and the stellar Marlon Brando, who played Sky Masterson. Paul Leonard filled these colossal shoes in 2008’s production along with the incredible talent of Leslie Speyers as the comic lead, Nathan Detroit. The musical included its big hits such as Luck Be a Lady; Guys and Dolls, which was recorded by Frank Sinatra along with Dean Martin; Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat, which Sammy Davis Jr turned into a smash hit; as well as A Bushel and a Peck.
Guys and Dolls opened on May 9th 2008 at the Savoy Theatre and Conference Centre and was one of the most spectacular productions ever seen on the stage.
